Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies has significantly transformed educational practices across the globe, particularly in the field of language education. Digital learning platforms have emerged as indispensable tools for facilitating language teaching and learning, offering innovative approaches that transcend the limitations of traditional classroom instruction. This paper examines the role of digital learning platforms in transforming language pedagogy in the twenty-first century. Drawing on contemporary literature, the study explores the evolution of digital learning technologies, the pedagogical benefits of digital platforms, and the challenges associated with their implementation in language education. The paper further discusses emerging innovations such as artificial intelligence, mobile-assisted language learning, gamification, and virtual learning environments that are reshaping language instruction. Guided by Constructivist Learning Theory and Connectivism Theory, the study argues that digital learning platforms have enhanced learner autonomy, increased access to authentic language resources, facilitated collaborative learning, and improved assessment practices. However, issues such as inadequate technological infrastructure, digital inequality, and insufficient teacher preparedness continue to hinder effective implementation. The paper concludes that the successful integration of digital learning platforms into language education requires strategic investment in infrastructure, teacher training, and policy support to maximize their pedagogical potential.
